Luke "The Duke” Emmons will be coming to the First Baptist Church of Willimantic to save the steeple on Thursday, September 9th at 6pm. Admission is free, and pizza, hot dogs and bottled water will be available.

The Knights of Columbus Council 14 will be hosting a soccer challenge on Friday, September 10th at 7pm at Shetucket Park in Windham. The penalty kick competition is open to all children ages 10 to 14, and admission is free! All are welcome, come out and enjoy the event.

A Norwich 50 plus singles dance will be held Sunday, September 12th from 6 to 10pm at Moose Hall, 115 Fitchville road in Bozrah. Come join the fun with free refreshments, great music, and a cash bar. Tickets are available at the door, and for more info call 860-537-5507.

The Connecticut State Ukrainian Day Committee will be sponsoring their 43rd Ukrainian Day Festival on Sunday, September 12th, 2010 on the grounds of St. Basil’s Seminary, 161 Glenbrook road in Stamford. The event begins at 9am and the entry fee is $10. Attractions include an arts and crafts bazaar, authentic Ukrainian food, and several Ukrainian musical groups. The event will be held rain or shine.

The Cancer Support Group will be meeting on Tuesday, September 14th from 10:30 am to 12 pm at the Mansfield Senior Center. Meetings also will be held on the second Tuesday of each month, and family and friends are welcome to attend.

The 13th annual CRIS Radio Golf Classic is coming up Wednesday, September 22nd at Manchester Country Club. Registration begins at noon, and the cost is $145 per player, which includes 18 holes, cart, lunch, and a buffet dinner.
